Modern Romance: A Styled Shoot at The Rocke with Shayleen Jagassar Photography & Micah Angelei Weddings

Recently, I got to team up with Micah Angelei Weddings and an amazing group of vendors to create a stunning editorial at The Rocke Event Centre, a beautiful wedding venue. We went with a pink and neutral theme, bringing in soft, romantic tones that felt both elegant and modern. And let me tell you—it was gorgeous.

Bringing the Vision to Life

Micah and I planned this shoot from the ground up, starting with a mood board and a clear vision in mind. We wanted something editorial yet romantic, and The Rocke’s aesthetic provided the perfect backdrop. The soft pinks and neutrals complemented the venue beautifully, creating a timeless and elegant atmosphere.

Every vendor brought their unique talents to the table, adding thoughtful details that made the shoot come to life. From the florals to the stationery suite, each element was carefully curated to reflect our vision. It was amazing to see everything come together so seamlessly—everyone was truly a dream to work with.

The Creative Process & My Approach to Shooting

When approaching this shoot, I wanted to think editorially—focusing on refined compositions, natural movement, and storytelling through the details. Rather than just capturing posed moments, I aimed to create images that felt effortless, like they belonged in a bridal magazine.

The staircase at The Rocke was one of my favorite spots to shoot. It added dimension, leading lines, and a sense of drama to the images. Whether it was the bride’s soft gown flowing as she walked down the steps or the way the light hit just right, it was a space that allowed for a lot of creativity.

With styled shoots, there’s always room to push creative boundaries—experimenting with different angles, playing with lighting, and capturing not just the beauty of the setup, but the emotions and energy within it.

Why Styled Shoots Matter

I love doing styled shoots because they allow for creative freedom while still collaborating with talented people in the industry. It’s an opportunity to step outside the usual wedding-day pressures and focus purely on the art of storytelling. Plus, it’s a great way to connect with other vendors, build relationships, and showcase what we can create when we come together.

If you’re in the middle of wedding planning and looking for amazing vendors to bring your vision to life, I can’t recommend this team enough. Their talent and attention to detail truly made this shoot something special.
